Browserbase is a cloud platform based in San Francisco that specializes in headless browser automation. Founded in 2024 by Paul Klein IV, it offers browser infrastructure for developers and AI agents, allowing them to run, manage, and monitor browsers in the cloud without the need for their own browser fleet. The core service is browser-as-a-service, enabling users to control fully managed Chromium instances through an API for various automated web interactions, including clicking, form filling, and scraping. Browserbase supports common automation frameworks like Playwright, Puppeteer, and Selenium. Its features include serverless browser hosting, session recording, debugging, live view, proxy support, and CAPTCHA solving, all designed to enhance automation reliability against bot-detection systems. The company also provides enterprise deployment options for compliance-sensitive use cases. Browserbase targets developers, AI teams, and enterprises focused on automation, testing, scraping, and AI workflows. It serves a large customer base, reportedly exceeding 10,000 companies and 100,000 developers.
