Gatebox
Gatebox, founded in 2014 as Winkle and renamed in 2017, makes the "Gatebox" character-summoning device and the "Digital Figure Box" display. It also sells B2B AI customer-service characters ("AI Baito") for retail and events. Revenue comes from hardware sales and digital figures, plus business AI-character services. It became independent of LINE Yahoo Group in August 2024. In April 2025 it raised ¥230M in a seed round led by PKSHA Algorithm Fund, with Incubate Fund and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Capital. Headcount estimates range from about 6 to 30.
