Gestala
Gestala is a life sciences company building an ultrasound brain-computer interface platform. It combines functional ultrasound imaging, focused ultrasound neuromodulation and a multimodal brain foundation AI model. Its first target is chronic pain, followed by stroke rehabilitation, depression and PTSD, and it is working with major Chinese hospitals on clinical trials. It has no commercial product yet. It launched on Jan 1, 2026 and was co-founded by CEO Phoenix (Peng Lei) and Tianqiao Chen of Shanda. It raised RMB 570M (about US$84M) in 2026 across a RMB 150M angel round in March and a RMB 420M Angel+ round in July. Investors include Sinovation Ventures, Lens Technology, HSG, C Capital and Gobi Partners. It runs dual headquarters in Chengdu (engineering and manufacturing) and Shanghai (research and AI). As of Aug 2026 it had 29 scientists and engineers, with about 45 planned by year-end.
