Saildrone designs, manufactures and operates a fleet of uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) with onboard sensors and ML. They are used for maritime domain awareness, ocean mapping and ocean data. Customers include NOAA, NASA, universities and the U.S. Department of Defense. It sells under a Mission-as-a-Service model, in which it owns and operates the vehicles and customers buy the data and mission control. It raised about $60M in 2025, led by Denmark's EIFO, and $50M from Lockheed Martin in Oct 2025. Total funding is estimated at $246M–$325M depending on the source. Headcount was about 247 in mid-2026. In April 2026 it unveiled Spectre, a high-speed USV for naval operations.
