Solstice Community Solar connects households and businesses to community solar projects, allowing them to save on electricity bills without the need for rooftop solar panels. Founded in 2014, Solstice began as a nonprofit at MIT and has since evolved into a for-profit company after being acquired by Mitsui. Recently, it joined Perch Energy as a MyPower company, enhancing its ability to provide affordable clean energy access across the nation. The company offers community solar subscriptions, enabling customers to benefit from local solar farms. Solstice also developed the EnergyScore Algorithm, which helps low- and moderate-income households qualify for solar benefits without relying solely on traditional credit scores. Their services include a subscriber management platform for solar developers, community benefit fund distribution, and comprehensive customer support. Solstice operates in several states, including Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, New Mexico, and California, with plans for further expansion.
