OpenAI buys Statsig for $1.1B and makes its founder CTO of Applications

OpenAI announced on September 2, 2025 that it was acquiring Statsig, the feature-flag and experimentation platform, for about $1.1B in stock — matching Statsig's last valuation — and naming founder Vijaye Raji CTO of Applications, in charge of product engineering for ChatGPT and Codex.
