Snowflake buys Crunchy Data for ~$250M, chasing Databricks into Postgres

Snowflake agreed on June 2, 2025 to acquire Crunchy Data, the enterprise Postgres company, for about $250M — three weeks after Databricks bought Neon — to give AI agents a transactional database inside the AI Data Cloud.
