Positron raises $875M at $5B to tape out its memory-first inference chip

Positron raised $875M across a Series C and C-1 at a $5B post-money valuation. The Series C was led by NEA, Andra Capital, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners and SemiAnalysis Capital; the C-1 by NEA and Jim Clark, with Qatar Investment Authority, Cisco Investments and Naver Ventures participating. The money funds its Asimov inference silicon — another well-funded challenger to Nvidia in inference, where builders' costs actually live.
