Dynatrace buys Arize for $915M: agents need a new kind of observability

Dynatrace announced on August 14 that it will acquire Arize AI, the LLM observability and evaluation company, for $915M — about $815M in cash plus replacement equity for Arize staff. Arize's revenue is undisclosed; we estimate around $40M of ARR, so Dynatrace is paying roughly 20× for the evals layer (Lounge estimate).
