Meta open-sources Muse Gadgets and ships 5,000 free Home Link dongles to hobbyist builders
Meta released Muse Gadgets, an open-source ESP32 firmware and Linux SDK that lets anyone build hardware peripherals for its Muse assistant, alongside Muse Home Link, a USB-C dongle that bridges Muse to smart-home devices and anything exposing a local HTTP API. Meta manufactured 5,000 Home Link units, free to Muse subscribers while supplies last, and opened API tokens, a GitHub repo and a Discord for builders. Suggested projects include E Ink displays, HDMI dongles and touchscreens. It is a low-cost play to put a Muse-branded bridge in homes that Alexa and Google Home currently own.
