Wired: Meta's Muse assistant is instructed to build a profile page on every person in a user's life
Researcher Karan Joshi extracted Muse's internal instructions through ordinary chat and found the agent is told to create a page for each person the user knows, with facts, history and relationship sections, while a reviewer observed a Messages database sync reaching more than 187,000 rows. Meta's Andy Stone says Muse cannot access data without the permissions the user grants, the company has issued a hotfix for a Mac dictation issue, and it is promising confidential-VM protection later in 2026. The episode sets the privacy baseline fight for always-on personal agents and is likely to draw regulator attention to how agents handle third-party data.
