Photoroom is an AI image-editing platform on mobile, web and API. It started with background removal and now offers generative tools such as AI Backgrounds, AI Images and AI Shadows, plus batch editing for marketplace-ready product photos. Its users are online sellers, brands and creators, and it is sold as a freemium subscription with a paid API. The company raised a $43M Series B in February 2024 led by Balderton Capital, with Aglaé and Y Combinator also in the round, at a reported ~$500M valuation, for about $64M raised in total.
