Gewu Tongzhi closes nearly RMB 100M angel round for dexterous robot AI
Reports published on October 18 say Gewu Tongzhi closed an angel round of nearly RMB 100 million, which is roughly $14 million at current exchange rates (Lounge conversion). The named investors are Hongfu Asset Management, Peak Investment, Hangzhou Capital and Hangzhou Talent Group, and the reports did not name a lead, so none is marked. Founder and CEO Cai Jia previously worked on Huawei's research laboratories and automotive business, including ADS driving systems. The company was founded this year and builds AI for dexterous robotic manipulation, combining world models with learning from physical interactions. Proceeds will fund model training, hardware development, recruiting and real-world data collection. For founders, the round shows that local government funds and asset managers in Hangzhou are writing early checks into embodied AI teams. Teams building physical AI should plan for data collection from day one, because training loops for manipulation depend on real interaction data.
