Mach9 raises $34M Series A for AI construction CAD software
Mach9 raised a $34 million Series A co-led by First Round Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Prudence and existing investor Quiet Capital. The startup earlier focused on robotics and mapping before moving into AI-driven drafting software for construction and infrastructure. Its private beta has reached nearly 100 customers across more than 2,500 projects. The company operates in a crowded field of startups modernizing the planning-to-building pipeline. TechCrunch pointed to CivilGrid, which raised $26 million in August to map underground infrastructure. No valuation for the round was disclosed. For founders in vertical AI, the deal shows that early customer usage in engineering workflows can draw top-tier seed and Series A capital quickly. Builders targeting construction should expect rivals to compete for the same design and permitting workflows.
