Maxinsights raises $30M seed to build training data layer for physical AI
More than 5,000 contractors in six countries currently wear Maxinsights' proprietary head, wrist and chest cameras while they load dishwashers, make smoothies or wash cars. The company says it has captured more than 2 million hours of footage, and 1.5 million of those hours are ready for models. Its MaxLoop software scores and corrects data as it arrives, cutting the human review team by 90%, while MaxGlove records grip strength and object weight that a camera cannot see. Genesis AI says Maxinsights provided all 200,000 hours of egocentric data used to train GENE-26.5, and the two companies are now developing MaxGlove together to add touch and force data. Maxinsights also positions itself as the largest data provider behind Dyna-2, Dyna Robotics' World-Action Model. It has more than 30 customers, including frontier AI labs, and eight are on recurring contracts. Investors put $47.4 billion into physical AI in the first half of 2026, nearly four times the total for the second half of 2025. On the same day, physical AI startup Enact Intelligence emerged from stealth on October 22, 2026, announcing $30 million in pre-seed funding to build robots that sense force and touch. Enact's raise is a different layer, but it reflects the same investor interest in inputs beyond models and hardware. No valuation has been reported for either round. For founders, the signal is that real-world task footage is becoming a bought input rather than something each robotics team must collect itself. Buyers should treat the hours, review-cost and customer figures as company-reported claims, since none has been independently verified. Anyone training robot policies should weigh whether vendor-collected footage fits their task mix before committing budget.
