Minerva Humanoids leaves stealth with a $10M pre-seed led by General Catalyst for teleoperated hazardous-work robots
Minerva Humanoids, based in San Francisco with sites in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Sindelfingen, Germany, raised a $10M pre-seed led by General Catalyst. Long Journey Ventures, Credo Ventures, MVP Ventures, Kaya, RunwayVC, Compound, Founders Embassy, Hugging Face, Codecademy, YG, Walter Ventures, Tiny Ventures, Chaotica and Babylon also invested. Its semi-autonomous humanoid, Roger, is teleoperated through VR for offshore rigs, high-voltage plants, explosive-ordnance disposal and hazmat work, with on-site testing at two of the world's ten busiest airports and a showcase at NATO's EOD Centre of Excellence. Paid pilots start this fall, a reminder that the near-term humanoid market is dangerous jobs, not households.
