Mogul raises $15.5M Series A for AI-run fractional rental property investing
The Washington, D.C. company lets investors buy fractional stakes in residential rental homes and uses AI for sourcing, underwriting, performance analysis and portfolio management. Draper Associates led the Series A. Other backers include Draper Dragon, Avalanche Blizzard Fund, LAUNCH, Gaingels and angels Stephen Sullivan and Alex Jovanovich. Total funding is above $23.6M, and the company reports a post-money valuation of $126M. Mogul says it is cash-flow positive and manages more than 150 properties with a small team, which it attributes to automation. The new capital funds more property purchases, additional AI features and operations capacity. No revenue figure was published. For AI builders, the round shows AI used to cut headcount in a labor-heavy financial product, with a lean team as the selling point. The risk sits outside the model: property values, tenant demand, local rules and investor liquidity still drive results, so unit economics need to hold without the AI story.
