Bilibili released Index-Translate, a 35-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts translation model under Apache 2.0 covering 150 languages, built on Qwen with controls for terminology and formatting. For products with international users this is a credible self-hosted alternative to per-character translation APIs. Open-weight releases from Chinese labs keep arriving weekly; the cost curve for localization is bending down fast.
