What's Really Inside Your AI Model?

We spend considerable time evaluating AI models based on accuracy, inference performance, and benchmark scores.

But how often do we examine what's actually inside the models we're deploying?

I developed a neural network model analysis proof of concept that examines model architecture, parameters, computational complexity, and deployment characteristics across several popular machine learning frameworks.

From an AI security perspective, understanding model internals is an important starting point for evaluating potential vulnerabilities and deployment risks.

My question for the Lounge.ai community:
Should AI model architecture and security assessments become a standard part of the deployment process?

And should organizations require independent model auditing before putting third-party AI models into production?

Yes to both, and I think buyers will make it standard before any law does. The SaaS CEOs in SaasRise who sell to larger companies tend to see deals stall until they pass the customer's security review, so I'd expect an independent check of any outside AI a vendor relies on to become one more line on that same review.

Great point, Ryan! I agree that market demand may drive independent AI security assessments before regulations catch up. We're already seeing how traditional vendor security reviews influence enterprise purchasing decisions, and AI introduces another layer of risk that those reviews will need to address. Beyond examining model architecture, I think organizations should evaluate adversarial robustness, data privacy, supply chain integrity, and how third-party models interact with enterprise systems. The challenge will be establishing standardized, reproducible assessments that give buyers meaningful assurance without creating unnecessary barriers to AI adoption. Appreciate the SaaS perspective!
