FNN (Fire Neural Network) sells its HRL detection service to utilities and government agencies worldwide. It combines patented lightning sensors, satellite and environmental data, and AI to find lightning strikes likely to start wildfires. It also sends AI alerts on power-asset health after strikes. The company was spun out of University of Florida physics and engineering research and has had SBIR support from NSF, USDA and NASA. It was in the 35 Mules utility-innovation cohort (2024). It reported raising about $5M and sending more than 150 alerts to Florida emergency managers in 2025, and Forbes named it to its 2026 30 Under 30 Energy & Green Tech list.
