LiORA (formerly Environmental Material Science, EMS) combines in-situ soil and groundwater sensors that read every 30 minutes, an AI analytics platform and its BioLodestone biostimulant. Together these give continuous contaminant monitoring and predictions for site remediation. Its customers are oil & gas, commercial real estate and cleantech operators, and it has said it works with major international oil and gas companies in Canada and the US. It spun out of the University of Saskatchewan in 2019 and closed a C$5.1M seed round in 2025. The round was led by Conexus Venture Capital Fund II and BDC Capital's Sustainability Venture Fund, and the company is pushing into the US market. PitchBook lists about 34 employees.
