Arlequin AI raises €28M ($32.6M) Series A
Redalpine and OTB Ventures jointly led the round, with Bpifrance's Defence Innovation Fund and Xavier Niel also taking part. Existing backers Vsquared Ventures and 10x Founders increased their stakes. The company did not disclose a valuation or individual check sizes. Total funding now stands at €32.4 million, following a €4.4 million seed round announced in June 2025. The company was founded in 2024 by Hugo Micheron and Antoine Jardin. It serves more than 30 clients in four European countries. Offices have opened in London and Berlin, and a Silicon Valley AI lab is planned. Its models are built on topological neural networks, and the company claims they need less compute than large-scale LLMs. RuntimeWire noted that the efficiency claims still await public benchmarks. For founders, the round shows investors will fund a non-LLM architecture when it is sold on traceability. Buyers are organizations where a fabricated answer can carry legal, financial or national-security consequences. Defence-linked backing and a European-only investor base also point to demand for sovereign AI. The open question is whether the compute and accuracy claims hold up once independent benchmarks appear.
