Cognex acquires RealSense for $500M

RealSense develops computer vision and 3D perception technology for machines and robots. On September 22, 2026, Cognex announced it would acquire RealSense for $500M (cash). Cognex is a supplier of industrial barcode readers, sensors, software, and vision systems used in production automation. At the middle of Crunchbase's revenue estimate ($10M to $50M) the price works out to roughly 22× revenue.
