Automation Anywhere agrees to buy Norwegian conversational AI firm Boost.ai from Nordic Capital
Automation Anywhere signed a definitive agreement on October 7 to buy Boost.ai, the enterprise chat and voice agent vendor, from private equity owner Nordic Capital. No price was disclosed. BofA Securities advised the buyer, Santander advised Boost.ai, and closing is targeted for the fourth quarter subject to regulatory approval. Boost.ai sells mostly to banks, insurers and telecom operators, supports more than 36 languages and has been named a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader for conversational AI four years running. This is Automation Anywhere's second conversational AI purchase in under a year, following Aisera in late 2025. Nordic Capital backed Boost.ai in 2021, when the Norwegian company had just over 100 staff and roughly NOK 100M in ARR, so the exit closes a five-year private equity hold. For founders, the pattern is clear: automation incumbents want a customer-facing agent front end attached to back-office execution. Point solutions in conversational AI, especially in regulated verticals, are being folded into larger agent platforms rather than scaling alone.
