Bedrock Robotics raises $600M Series C at $4.1B for autonomous excavators
Bedrock Robotics, a San Francisco company founded in 2024 by former Waymo engineers, announced a $600 million Series C at a $4.1 billion post-money valuation on October 26. CapitalG and Emergence Capital co-led the round. The US Innovative Technology Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners and Temasek are new investors, while 8VC, Valor Equity Partners, Perry Creek Capital and Nvidia returned from earlier rounds. Bisnow reported the new valuation is more than 134 percent above the February round, which raised roughly $270 million at $1.75 billion. The company builds autonomous systems for heavy equipment such as excavators. It says fully autonomous machines began paid work on live commercial jobsites in August, with deployments in Nevada and Texas. Its pitch targets contractors struggling to hire experienced equipment operators. For teams building physical AI, the round shows investors will fund autonomy that performs on real job sites rather than in demos. Founders should note that commercial deployment milestones, not model benchmarks, drove the step-up in valuation.
