Industrial AI firm Envana buys Cleartrace to add verified clean energy tracking
After the deal, Envana runs three products: Catalyst for audit-grade emissions evidence, Cleartrace for verified energy and carbon provenance, and Cencia for AI decision intelligence. Terms were not disclosed. Dealroom lists Cleartrace as having raised about $24M. Envana will sell first to oil and gas companies, utilities, data centers and other large energy users. Siguler Guff managing director PR Panigrahi called AI in carbon value chains a key focus for Envana. The timing tracks regulation. From February 2027, EU operators must measure methane at the site level, and the GHG Protocol's Scope 2 revision is pushing corporate buyers toward hourly matching of clean power. Data center operators facing scrutiny over AI power use are among the target customers. For AI founders in climate and industrial software, the asset buyers want is verified, governed data. A model that analyzes emissions is only as useful as the provenance of its inputs, and consolidators are buying that data layer first.
