Melius raises $20M Series A led by CRV for AI agents that produce ad campaigns, images and video
CRV led the Series A, taking total funding to $25M after a $5M seed led by General Catalyst. The New York company was started by three former Ramp engineers, Joowon Kim, Young Kim and Arnav Ramu, who spent six months on an AI performance-marketing tool, scrapped the codebase, and rebuilt around generating finished creative assets from plain-language briefs. The relaunched product crossed $1M in annualized revenue within two months of its July release. Melius pitches itself as an agents lab for creative work rather than a model vendor, competing with Runway's new autonomous ads product and a crowded field of generative-ad tools from Meta and Google themselves. The pivot story is the notable part: the team raised a seed on one idea, abandoned it and still closed an A within a year. For founders, that is the current market in miniature: investors will fund a reset when the second product shows revenue inside a quarter, and ad creative remains one of the fastest paths from model to paying customer.
