Oxide Computer raises $445M Series D led by Eclipse at a reported $6B valuation

Existing backers USIT, Riot Ventures and Jane Street took large allocations, and Friends and Family Capital and Counterpart also joined. Atreides Management is the only new financial investor. AMD comes in as a strategic investor. Axios reported the round values the company at $6 billion. Oxide says it became profitable enough this spring to pay income tax. It is raising to buy components and fund manufacturing for a large order backlog. The company sells rack-scale systems that let enterprises own and run their own cloud on premises. It previously raised a $100M Series B and a $200M Series C. Demand is rising as compute shortages and growing public cloud bills push large buyers to rethink renting capacity. For AI builders, the round shows investors will pay high multiples for hardware that eases compute scarcity. Teams with inference or sensitive workloads may get more on-premises options as this capacity ships.
