Sabi raises $50M seed led by Khosla Ventures for an EEG cap that turns thoughts into AI commands
Initialized Capital, Collaborative Fund and Ascend also invested. The San Francisco company is run by CEO Rahul Chhabra and CTO Atmadeep Banerjee. It hides millimeter-scale sensors in a baseball cap that read brain signals through hair, with no gel needed. Sabi says its custom EEG chip uses less than one fiftieth the power of a widely used Texas Instruments part. Its brain foundation model was trained on more than 100,000 hours of labeled recordings. The company is working on three features: imagined speech to text, trained mental commands that become AI prompts, and prediction of a user's next on-screen action. Neural data is encrypted at the sensor. A prototype is due at CES 2027. Banerjee co-authored MindEye, a NeurIPS 2023 paper on decoding images from non-invasive scans. For founders, a $50M seed for non-invasive neural input shows investors betting the next interface fight is about how fast people can give AI instructions. Agent builders should watch whether thought-to-prompt becomes a usable input.
