Zen Technologies to buy 51.98% of defence AI firm Cogknit Semantics
Zen Technologies will acquire a 51.98 percent stake in Cogknit Semantics, a Bengaluru-based defence AI company, for cash of up to US$18.4 million, roughly $14.2 million after currency conversion. The board of the acquirer approved the purchase on October 17, 2026. Taking the majority holding gives Zen control of the target. Public sources describe Cogknit as a defence AI firm but do not report its revenue, headcount or a full valuation. Dividing the price by the stake gives an implied equity value of about $27 million, which is our arithmetic from the reported figures rather than a disclosed valuation. For founders, the deal shows that defence and government buyers will pay for small AI teams with domain products and existing customers. Companies in regulated markets should track how acquirers value contracts, security approvals and sector data, since these often count for more than growth rate in a sale.
