Shipped: AI MetaVoice — Synthetic Voice Detection & Audio Forensics
AI MetaVoice is an open-source audio forensics proof of concept that explores how nonlinear signal analysis can help distinguish authentic human speech from AI-generated synthetic voices.
The research investigates biological vocal characteristics using higher-order statistics, resonance skew, and phase-space reconstruction. By analyzing differences in signal energy distributions and nonlinear vocal dynamics, the framework visualizes potential artifacts associated with synthetic speech generation.
Implemented in Python and Jupyter Notebook, MetaVoice produces forensic visualizations, phase-space maps, and experimental liveness indicators. The proof of concept compares human and synthetic voice samples to explore whether measurable signal characteristics can support future deepfake detection and voice authentication systems.
The project also serves as the technical inspiration behind the fictional MetaVoice forensic methodology featured in Cyber Inference, part of The Convergence Chronicles. It connects cybersecurity research, AI-generated voice detection, and speculative technology through a reproducible experimental demonstration.
MetaVoice is an exploratory research prototype rather than a validated production-ready voice authentication system.
