Bolt.new makes its first acquisition, buying enterprise agent startup Dokai
StackBlitz's Bolt.new announced on September 29 that it acquired Dokai, a San Francisco startup whose agents handled enterprise sales tasks such as prospect research, account tiering and CRM enrichment. Terms were not disclosed. Co-founder Gerry Fernando Patia and the team join Bolt.new's AI and machine learning group. Dokai was founded by Patia and Rio Atmadja and backed by Character Capital and ERA. Bolt.new plans to use Dokai's orchestration layer, built for multi-step work inside enterprise systems without human review, to support longer-running app builds and to connect customer apps to CRMs and internal data. The company says about half of its enterprise customers start building before signing a contract and that the average customer ships its first app within 34 days. App-builder platforms are moving upmarket and need agents that survive inside real enterprise systems. Small agent teams with production experience in messy enterprise environments are being valued for that know-how even when their original product is set aside.
