Inkle buys Finally's bookkeeping division in all-cash deal adding 100 staff
Inkle, an AI-powered accounting firm founded in Bengaluru and headquartered in San Francisco, bought the bookkeeping division of Finally in an all-cash transaction. The unit adds about 100 employees spread across the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Puerto Rico, New York and Florida. Finally entered an assignment for the benefit of creditors on September 8, 2026, so the division was sold out of a wind-down estate. Finally had raised far more capital than Inkle, which Investing.com reports is profitable on $1.5M of pre-seed funding. The purchase is Inkle's first major expansion through acquisition, and it gives the firm around-the-clock coverage across its Americas and Asia teams. The price was not disclosed. For founders, the deal shows that the staff and client operations of a well-funded AI bookkeeping business can still change hands at undisclosed terms after a shutdown. Teams that keep unit economics tight can acquire capacity cheaply when rivals run out of runway.
