Musk says SpaceX's Grok Bot will hand tasks to Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney and Suno when they do better
In a post on X on Wednesday, Musk said SpaceX will use whichever back-end model fits each task. He named Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney for images and Suno for music, plus other leading APIs. He did not say which jobs go to which provider or how the routing works. Grok Bot is the agent app from SpaceXAI, the AI unit Musk folded into SpaceX. It launched in August, and each Bot runs on its own computer and can handle several tasks in parallel. xAI has spent heavily on compute to train its own Grok models since 2023. That makes routing to rivals a notable change. Grok Bot competes with personal agents such as Meta's Muse and Instinct. For builders, a frontier lab sending work to a competitor's model suggests the product value is moving into orchestration and the agent experience. Owning one model matters less. It is also a fresh reference account for Anthropic's API among consumer agent apps.
