Shipped: Quantum Image Processing with IBM Qiskit — Hands-On Tutorial

An open-source, hands-on quantum computing tutorial demonstrating how classical image data can be represented and manipulated using quantum circuits and IBM Qiskit.

The project guides learners through converting a test image into binary pixel data, encoding that information into quantum states, and applying a custom Quantum Fourier Transform (QFT). It includes quantum circuit representations and Bloch sphere visualizations to illustrate how quantum operations transform encoded information.

Implemented in Python and Jupyter Notebook, the experiment connects classical image preprocessing with quantum state encoding, quantum gates, and circuit visualization. It provides an accessible introduction to quantum image processing for students, educators, researchers, and developers exploring quantum computing applications.

Adapted from the open-source quantum-image-processing work by ica574, this educational proof of concept is intended for learning and experimentation rather than large-scale image processing on quantum hardware.

Teachers are probably your fastest path to real users here. I'd package the image tutorial as a ready-to-run class lab with a one-page lesson plan and a short quiz, then send it to community college and high school computer science teachers who want a quantum unit but don't have time to build one themselves.
