Accessible AI apps for blind and neurodivergent users, from Chicago
I'm Austen Tucker, an AI builder and outcome owner based in Chicago. Outside of work I build accessible, useful software with a focus on blind and neurodivergent users. My stack is mostly Claude and ChatGPT, and my GitHub has a mix of TypeScript and Dart projects, plus heinlein, a Markdown pipeline that turns manuscripts into branded PDF, EPUB, DOCX and HTML for my publishing imprint, Free Play Publishing.
I also write fiction and essays at thearcades.me, and I help engineering and product teams make new AI tools useful in everyday work, not just purchased. I'm still figuring out how to bring that same care for accessibility into more of the tools I build and the teams I work with.
What I'd love from this community: an introduction to anyone building AI products with blind or neurodivergent users, or feedback from people who have shipped accessible apps.

Welcome to Lounge, Austen. Heinlein caught my eye: producing accessible EPUB and HTML from one Markdown source seems like a real advantage, since semantic structure does so much of the work. Do you test the outputs with screen readers like VoiceOver or NVDA, and has that changed how you write the source?
