agentty: an AI pair programmer for the terminal, from Warsaw
Hi, I'm Ayush, a software engineer in Warsaw working independently. My main project is agentty, an AI pair programming tool for the terminal. It ships as one static binary with sub-millisecond startup and works with any model. The users I have in mind are developers who already spend their day in the shell.
I also build Linux tools in C and C++: neowall, a GPU-accelerated live wallpaper engine for Wayland and X11, and rockbottom, a system monitor that explains what the numbers mean. Agentty has the most traction so far, with about 620 GitHub stars, but I'm still figuring out how to turn that interest into daily use.
I'd love an intro to developers who have taken a terminal-first tool from early adopters to a steady user base. Which distribution or onboarding choice mattered most for you?

Welcome to Lounge, Ayush. With 620 stars but unclear daily use, I'd want to know where people drop off: install, first model key setup, or the first real task. Since agentty works with any model, does bring-your-own-key friction hurt activation more than startup speed helps?
