Computer vision and deep learning at IIT Bhilai

Hi everyone, I'm Sai Kamal Nannuri, a Mechatronics Engineering undergraduate at IIT Bhilai, focused on deep learning, computer vision, and applied AI research.

My work spans semantic segmentation, vision models, model evaluation, and ML engineering. I'm particularly interested in improving segmentation quality through boundary-aware metrics and loss functions, building robust vision pipelines, and bridging the gap between research implementations and real-world deployment.

I've contributed to DL/CV research at IIT Bhilai and worked as an ML Engineer Intern at Veridia.io. Beyond AI, I serve as Secretary of the Space Exploration Society at IIT Bhilai, combining my interests in engineering, astronomy, and emerging technologies.

I'm now exploring AI agents, multimodal AI, and production-grade ML systems, with an emphasis on understanding not just how models perform, but how to make them reliable and useful in practice.

I'd love to connect with researchers and engineers working on computer vision, agentic AI, and ML evaluation. If you're building something interesting or tackling a challenging problem in these areas, I'd be happy to exchange ideas and explore collaborations.

Welcome to Lounge, Sai. Your focus on boundary-aware metrics and losses for segmentation is a useful angle, since plain IoU often hides edge errors that matter in production. Which application have you seen where boundary quality changed the outcome most?
