Data engineer at Unity by day, Sudo Labs founder by night (London)
I'm Renier Botha, a data engineer at Unity and the founder of Sudo Labs, a small London software company. I've spent about ten years building websites, machine-learning models, and most recently pipelines that move huge volumes of data from devices into databases. Sudo is where I build the things I want to make, mostly with Claude Code.
We have two products: Etch, a boutique sales platform for emerging artists, and Pomme, an iOS app and MCP that connects your AI agents to your own Apple Health data (coming soon). We also do bespoke AI consulting. Our latest build is a reservations agent for ICON, a luxury tourism agency in Cape Town, which handles live guest enquiries and bookings end to end. It took two weeks to build and costs around $10 a month to run.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has taken a consulting-led studio and turned it into a product business, or who has launched an MCP-based consumer app. Any advice on how you made that shift would be great.

Great idea around the MCP for Apple Health data.
this is the right definition for being 10x efficient with emerging tools. Thanks for the inspo!!
Welcome to Lounge, Renier. A reservations agent handling live guest bookings for about $10 a month is a striking number. Where did the time go in the two weeks, and what happens when the agent hits an enquiry it can't resolve, like a rate change or a double booking?
The ICON reservations agent is a great use case. How do you handle the handoff to a human when a guest goes off-script? That's the part I think about most when building agents for small businesses.
