Dublin MSc student and independent dev across web, backend and AI

Hi everyone, I'm Varun Hameer Dutia, an independent software developer based in Dublin. I'm doing an MSc in Computer Science at University College Dublin, and my focus is scalable backend systems, distributed applications and AI-powered software. Recent projects include airaware, an air-quality explainer that pulls the official AQI from Google and has Gemini explain it without inventing numbers, and a fault-tolerant student record system built with Docker and Nginx, with load balancing and database replication.

My day-to-day stack is Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Ollama, Supabase and Vercel. I'm currently going deeper on distributed systems, system design and LLMs, and I'm figuring out how to turn these side projects into work that real users rely on.

What I'd love from this community: an introduction to a founder or team who needs a backend or platform engineer, or honest feedback on my GitHub projects (varundutia).

Welcome to Lounge, Varun. Having Gemini explain the official AQI without inventing numbers is a smart constraint, since the model only narrates and never produces the data. How do you check that it stays faithful, and have you seen it drift on edge cases like very high readings?
