freehire: an open-source job search engine for agents and people

I'm Ilya, a founder based in Florianópolis. I build freehire, an open-source search engine for tech jobs. It indexes postings straight from company career boards, removes duplicates, and tags them by stack, seniority and location. The core is written in Go, and there is a CLI and an MCP server so an AI agent can search and track jobs without a browser. I also use Claude and Langfuse in the stack.

The site is free and has no walls, and the catalogue is now around 4.8M postings from more than 440k companies. Right now I'm working on the details that make it feel fast and honest, like preloading behavior and what counts as a real job view, plus a job-application agent that works inside Chrome.

What I'd love: feedback from anyone building agents that act on a user's behalf. If you've tried pointing one at a real API like this, I'd like to hear what broke.

Welcome to Lounge, Ilya. Indexing 4.8M postings straight from career boards and deduping them is a hard problem, since the same role often appears with different titles and locations. What signal do you trust most for deciding two postings are the same job, and where does Claude help versus plain rules?
