Hi, I'm Adekanbi, building design sites and small web tools in Nigeria

Hi everyone, I'm Adekanbi Joshua, founder and CEO of Young Temi Ltd, based in Oko-Aso, Nigeria. Most of what I build is for the web. My main project is a website for graphic design, which I've built in a few versions in my GitHub repositories using HTML and JavaScript. I also made a small Recipe Finder with Node.js, Express, Bootstrap and TheMealDB API, and a tool called personscope for tracking person information.

For coding help I use ChatGPT, Codex and GitHub Copilot, I deploy on Vercel, and I use Muse. I'm still early. I don't have users or traction to point to yet, so the main thing I'm working out is which project deserves my focus first.

What I'd love from this community is feedback on the graphic design site, especially from anyone who has built a portfolio or agency site. I'd most like to know what a visitor should see first.

Welcome Adekanbi. For a design site, the first screen should answer three things in five seconds: who you design for ("logos and flyers for small businesses in Lagos"), 3 to 6 of your best pieces right there, not behind a menu, and one clear next step with a price or a "from" price and a WhatsApp or email button. Under each project add a line on the client's problem and the result, that sells more than the image alone. On focus: pick the project where someone could pay you this month, which sounds like the design site. Later, a small free tool tied to design (a color palette picker, a flyer size guide) can bring search visitors to it, because tool pages rank for task searches much more easily than portfolio pages.
