Marco: a private, offline-first email client built in London
I'm Isaac, a founder based in London. I build Marco, an email client for macOS, iOS and web that is private and offline-first, with Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and iCloud in one place. It deliberately has no AI drafts, rewrites, summaries or replies. It has 2,000+ users so far. I also co-founded Sway Money, and I maintain an open source project called encephalon, which gives coding agents durable, repository-local memory stored as Git-mergeable JSON.
Most of my building happens with Claude Code and Codex. I'm interested in how to keep loops with coding agents tight while still shipping fullstack products that feel considered.
What I'd love from the community: introductions to anyone who cares about email privacy or works on local-first software, and feedback on how they think about building with AI while choosing not to put it in the product.

Welcome to Lounge, Isaac. Keeping AI out of the product while building it with Claude Code is an interesting stance. With Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and iCloud all offline-first, how are you handling sync conflicts across four different protocols, and did encephalon come out of that workflow?
