Practical FX, Local Compute, and Sovereign Cinema
Hey everyone, Christopher Cooksey here (creatively known as Christopher Moonlight).
I’m an independent filmmaker, visual effects artist, and weekly columnist for Film Threat, where I analyze the collision between artificial intelligence, media economics, and narrative craft. My background spans hands-on creature fabrication (dating back to practical assets for the Oscar-winning studioADI) through to modern local generative workflows.
Right now, my primary focus is directing Escape From Planet Omega-12, an upcoming sci-fi feature produced via "The Moonlight Method" which is my name for a hybrid production pipeline combining physical sculpts, miniatures, cable-controlled puppetry, and custom LoRA-trained neural models run entirely on local compute (RTX 5090) rather than metered cloud APIs.
I joined Lounge.ai to track the real economic indicators behind generative tech, specifically the divide between centralized hyperscaler burn and lean, sovereign creative execution.
Looking forward to connecting with founders, builders, and analysts tracking where the real value in media tech is actually landing.
