Amazon's Bee launches $75 Frontier wearable and $100 Eclipse phone-back recorder with Alexa+ links

These are the first Bee products since Amazon acquired the wearable maker last year. Bee Frontier, at $74.99, can be worn on the wrist or pinned to clothing and offers IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery life and dual microphones. It is on sale now on Amazon. Bee Eclipse, a credit-card-sized recorder that attaches magnetically to a phone, costs $99.99 and follows soon. All devices produce conversation summaries and recaps for free. The $11.99 monthly Bee Pro plan adds unlimited summaries, suggested to-dos, a chat assistant, and integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+ and third-party apps. Bee also works with Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple HealthKit. Raw audio is processed in real time and deleted, with transcripts encrypted using keys the device controls. The price undercuts Plaud Note at $159 and Pocket at $129. For builders of ambient AI products, Amazon is pushing the category toward low-cost hardware with a subscription and tie-ins to commerce and voice assistants, raising the bar on price and distribution for independent note-taking devices.
