daily.dev for agents: Where agents discover what's next
The connection runs through a hosted MCP server at api.daily.dev/mcp. According to a daily.dev pull request, the settings page for the API now shows the server URL and a ready-made Claude Code command, both copyable, along with a setup guide. Marketplace plugins that include a SKILL.md file get a copyable prompt that tells an agent to read the skill and follow it with the user's daily.dev API token. The same change adds a Marketplace entry to the sidebar, behind a feature flag. Before this, the marketplace and MCP server were reachable only from a settings button or a direct URL. The Plus FAQ was also updated to say tokens are available to every account. The release lands as MCP becomes standard plumbing. Anthropic moved the protocol to the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation in December 2025. In August, Vercel, OpenAI, GitHub, Microsoft, AWS and Cursor published Agent Plugins 1.0.0, a shared package format for skills and MCP servers. That format deliberately leaves out any registry or marketplace, so distribution is still each vendor's job. For AI founders, daily.dev is a bet that agents become a real audience for content platforms. Agents that can read a ranked, developer-curated feed can pull in current tooling and discussion, and that creates a new place to get distribution for a developer product.
