Grok Voice 3.0 speech-to-speech model goes live on the xAI API and replaces Voice 2.0 at the same price

The new model ships as grok-voice-3.0 with speech-to-speech support, and the API itself is unchanged. The grok-voice-latest alias now points to it, so any session using the alias upgrades automatically. grok-voice-2.0 is deprecated, and migrating means changing the model field. xAI's release notes say pricing matches Voice 2.0. Basenor, citing the SpaceXSI launch post, puts that at $0.08 per minute with sub-second latency, 40% lower than the previous generation. SpaceXSI says a Starlink support agent on the model verifies customers, troubleshoots hardware, issues account credits and ships replacement equipment. A Tesla commentator reported it already handles millions of daily conversations in Tesla vehicles, a figure the docs do not confirm. The release follows Grok 4.7 on September 21. For teams building voice agents, the alias behavior is the practical detail: behavior and latency can change without a deploy, so production apps that need stable output should pin the model name. Unchanged per-minute pricing also keeps pressure on other voice API vendors.
