Shipped: Unmute MLX Bridge
What if you could get streaming STT/TTS, generated faster than real time, on a Mac Mini?
Yeah. Normally need an H100 for something like that. Paying attention yet?
Unmute's reference model servers (moshi-server) are Linux/CUDA only. This replaces them with two WebSocket servers that speak moshi-server's exact wire protocol and run inference through moshi-mlx on Apple Silicon.
Stock Unmute connects and cannot tell the difference — no source changes, and no configuration either: the bridge's default ports are already the ones Unmute looks for.

Running Unmute on a Mac Mini instead of an expensive rented server opens it up to small teams and solo builders. Will the bridge stay free, or are you planning a paid version for companies that want setup help?
