How would you build a battery circularity platform that can scale internationally?

I'm developing an early battery registration and lifecycle tracking platform under MCBI. It aims to connect producers, importers, collectors and recyclers through unique ISs, QR codes and traceable handovers. My long-term vision is to support a global circular battery ecosystem, starting with a small, practical pilot. For builder experienced in traceability or circular economy platforms: what should the first pilot prove before expanding across countries, and where could AI add real value? I'd appreciate lessons from systems you've built or used.

The pilot idea makes sense to me as a business question: who pays first, and why? I'd ask whether the producers, the importers or the recyclers feel the most pressure right now, and whether any of them are already asking for this. Which of them has been easiest to talk to so far?

Thanks, Ryan. I haven’t spoken directly with potential users yet, so I haven’t validated who would pay. My concern is that businesses may see battery waste management as an extra cost rather than an immediate need. Your question helps me see my next step: talking with importers and recyclers about how they currently handle used batteries and where they face practical problems.
