Cold email that gets replies
A short, specific cold email and two follow-ups built around a trigger and one clear ask.
Use it when
Reaching a prospect who has never heard of you.
What you fill in
- prospect Name, role, company and anything recent (post, hire, funding, launch)
- offer What you do and the result you get for similar companies
- ask The small next step you want
The prompt
Write a cold email to prospect. What we do and the result we get: offer The ask: ask Rules: - Under 90 words. Subject line under 5 words, lowercase, no clickbait. - Open with the trigger, specific to them, not a compliment. - One line on the problem they likely have, one on the result we got for a similar company. - One low-friction ask. No "hope this finds you well", no attachments, no links except one if essential. Then write follow-up 2 (day 3, adds a new piece of value) and follow-up 3 (day 8, a polite close-the-loop). Give 2 subject line options. Before you answer, check your draft against every instruction above and fix anything that misses.
Why it works
- Hard length and format limits, the biggest driver of replies.
- Trigger-based opening shows it is not a blast.
- Follow-ups add value instead of 'bumping'.
